beth_h2 1/2 months since I last posted a set of recs? Seriously? I'm falling down on the job! Okay, so here's a few - mostly Clint/Phil - with many more to come over the course of the coming week
bendingwind: "Adventures in Social Media" (Phil/Clint. "It starts with a youtube video." Because, you know, if there's one video of Phil taking down armed robbers with a sack of flour, there are probably others. 1K)
bobbimorsed (Sin_Stained_Ink): "Don't Fear The Reaper" (clint/Phil. "It’s hard to fear the reaper when he’s been one of the only consistent things in your life." And if you didn't guess: Phil is the reaper. A 'Dead Like Me' vibe, and bittersweet.)
coffeesuperhero: "thanks for the memories" (Clint/Phil. "He's traveling light, but he's got more to carry than he can bear." Wistful and sad at times, but...somehow they both find a way.)
cy_chase: "The Malibu Avengers" (Clint/Phil, Team. A Hockey AU. Yes, really. Part one summary: "Phil Coulson has spent half his life working toward the Stanley Cup. The Malibu Avengers might finally be the team to take him there.")
rileys: "faster in our veins" (Phil/Nick" [1539573] C clear on all mh evals. Affect is normal, mood is greatly improved. C reports positive feelings about recovery and general outlook. That was the last report, sent three days before the emergency call from the safehouse, and the half-hour Quinjet trip in the middle of the night." Post-movie, and both Phil and Nick are showing signs of strain. Potentially spoilery content information: PTSD and suicidal ideation. Not happily ever after, but not a tragedy either.)
sabinelagrande: "Electric Wool" (Clint/Phil. "Coulson's replacement leaves a lot to be desired, in ways Clint can't even imagine." Let me just spoil things right now and say that androids feature strongly in this story. So do emotions.)
Selenay: Dreams and circus Crowds" (Phil/Clint. "Phil Coulson never joined SHIELD. Clint Barton never left the circus.They're destined to meet anyway." A circus-centric AU. 27K)
somehowunbroken: "And So It Goes" (Clint/Phil, Natasha/Thor, Steve/Bucky/Tony. "The Avengers is a moderately successful band, well on its way to becoming a mainstream hit when guitarist Bruce Banner has to take a sudden leave of absence. Lead singer Clint Barton and the rest of the band have to find a replacement, and Clint thinks that the former guitarist/lead singer for Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, is a sure thing. Nobody counted on Bucky knowing Steve, or the strain that might put on Steve's relationship with Tony..." I'm not in love with Natasha's portrayal, but generally speaking this is an engaging and entertaining AU.)
As I've noted before, I will clearly never catch up with old stories. If you have a favorite story (your own or somebody else's) that you think I might have missed and it's in a fandom that I've recced before (see my main recs page, which includes links to all the individual major fandoms and a miscellaneous fandoms page), feel free to leave a link below. Most loved at the moment are stories from one of the following fandoms: Avengers, Doctor Who, Due South, Harry Potter, Hawkeye, James Bond, Lewis, Sherlock Holmes in all varieties, or White Collar, but everything is welcome.
