Note, the first: This story was written as part of We Invented the Remix...Redux (Redux II). My scary mission? To remix one of Ellen Fremedon's wonderful stories. Certain that I wouldn't be able to do real justice to any of them, I took one of her longest and most plot-driven fics ("Slowly, But Exceeding Fine") and . . . okay, I turned it into a drunken prelude to a one night stand: the "Any Port in a Storm" remix. And seriously? You should read her story before you read this *g*

Note, the second: This story - not the original - is set just after Goblet of Fire, but there are spoilers for Order of the Phoenix as well.

Yes, lillian78 was properly ashamed to be asking this of me (*g*), but she offered to donate twice as much as I'd asked, so of course I agreed...at which point the story decided it needed to be six times as long as I said I'd be willing to write.

"Celebration"

"I'm ready," Remus said with a wan smile as he adjusted the unfamiliar
tie. "This Muggle suit is ridiculous, Hermione."

She grinned as she planted a kiss on his cheek. "You look wonderful, of
course." She turned away. He was struck, not for the first time, by her
tired eyes. What was left of innocence - for everyone, it seemed, not just
the schoolchildren - had vanished in a haze of pain and loss. They had
managed to look forward to celebrating the wedding of their friends, but
the empty seat that would have been taken by Harry...

He shook his head and cleared his throat. "You're beautiful, Hermione," he
whispered before he could take it back.
